Ambazonians home and abroad have been advocating for restoration of their home land. Despite the efforts and the steps towards restoration day; the neighboring Cameroon government has been occupying Ambazonia for the past 56 years has introduce yet another tax.
The new land tax comes attached to the electricity bills run by the Cameroon government. All taxes in Ambazonia are still paid to the Cameroon government. From the documents we got, the land tax seems to be flat at CFA 3000 but has a tax rate of 0.1%.
The government of Cameroon seems to be tightening its grip on Ambazonia citizens as October 1st approaches. October 1st is a day set aside for the restoration of the statehood of Ambazonia.
We have noticed that some Ambazonians have been silently paying this land tax since it was introduced in 2016. Our reporter gathered from some landlords who have been silently paying this land tax.
We learn that the government of Cameroon has collaborated with some friendly embassies in Yaoundé to demand for land tax as proof of owning a property when Ambazonians go for visas.
Ambazonians are anxiously waiting for October 1st to open doors to new diplomatic missions that will be open in Buea and probably.
Fearless witness
