Our reporter on the ground reported that a truck driver coming from Buea towards Kumba town lose control of his truck and collided head-on with a bus heading towards Buea.
The bus is said to be carrying more than several people on board. 20 passengers die instantly including the truck driver.
After the accident, at least 20 bodies were recovered, according to local residents, who were the first to rush to the scene.
Soldiers, policemen and Gendarmes from LRC were assisting in the rescue operation. The truck driver was also trapped on his seat for several hours while the “motor Boy” survived.
The occupants of the bus are said to belong to a choir returning from a wake keeping. A family is said to have lost four children while a chief lost two daughters. The injured are being treated at the Buea County hospital.
