Minister Tchiroma Bakari who is the minister of communication and government spokesperson of the republic of Cameroon has failed to learn that ‘Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent’. Each time the senior spokesperson of the Cameroon government opens his mouth he expresses his ignorance on both internal and world affairs.
Minister Tchiroma was speaking on BBC 17 hrs ago as he was being grilled on backdrop of accusations by Amnesty International that the Cameroon army has been torturing ‘Boko Haram Terrorist’ group suspects. Boko Haram is an Islamic terrorist group based in North Eastern Nigeria operates in three neighbouring countries including Cameroon.
Tchiroma instead lambasted the Amnesty international as being a propaganda tool for the Boko Haram terrorist.
Cameroon forces are known for torturing suspects in their custody including civilians from the territory of Ambazonia or Southern Cameroons. Activist from Ambazonia or Southern Cameroons who have expressed wish to restore their nationhood have been meet with visceral force and those arrested are also facing terrorism charges like the Boko haram Terrorist. Some of those so called by the republic of Cameroon as Anglophones are prominent lawyers, journalist, teachers and a Supreme Court judge. All these people have been tortured and charge in a military tribunal under terrorism law.
